Antawn's Army Aprill Newsletter
Hey fans!! The regular season is over and as the playoffs are getting started Twan and the Wizards are looking to make a run in the East.
Twan finished the season with averages of 21.4 points, 10.2 rebounds (career-high), 1.5 assists and 1.34 steals per game. He played in 79 games and led the team in scoring and rebounding.
The Wizards wrapped up the regular season with a 43-39 record making them the 5 seed in the East, playing the 4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round for the third straight year. The Wizards will be looking for pay back as the Cavs have knocked the Wizards out of the playoffs the last 2 years.
The playoffs are already underway and while the Wizards suffered a disappointing 93-86 defeat, Twan had a monster game putting up 23 points and a playoff-career high 19 rebounds. Twan and the Wizards seemed to be on pace for a game 1 victory until they went on a streak in the 4th quarter in which they missed 10 straight shots and scored only 2 points in the last 4 minutes and 39 seconds of play.
Game 2 is scheduled for Monday April 21 in Cleveland on TNT.
Despite a defeat in game 1 the Twan’s Wizards are confident in their chances. The Wizards are coming into the playoffs playing great basketball. They won 5 of the last 7 games of the regular season. Guard Gilbert Arenas said they were looking forward to playing the Cavaliers because it is tough to beat a team in the playoffs 3 years in a row.
Don't forget that registration is still open for Twan's Third Annual All-Star Basketball Camp, which is being presented by Bojangles' Restaurant again. Click HERE for more info!
Thanks for supporting Twan and the rest of the Wizards throughout the entire season. We are looking forward to seeing you in the stadium and hearing you cheer us on in the 2008 playoffs!!
