March Madness is Here!
Right Moves for Youth is proud to announce that the finals of our Annual March Madness Competition Presented by Antawn Jamison will take place Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology, 1430 Alleghany Street, Charlotte, NC 28208.
Right Moves For Youth’s “Pay-To-Play” philosophy rewards students for their achievements by providing opportunities to participate in a variety of athletic and cultural activities. Students who “pay” by improving their attendance, behavior and/or academic performance are rewarded with various opportunities to “play”.
One of these is the annual RMFY March Madness competition, which gives our students the chance to compete in basketball, cheerleading and stepping. Participation in March Madness is a reward for club members who show continuous improvement in attendance, behavior and academic performance.
For the fifth consecutive year, the March Madness competition is being sponsored by NBA star and Charlotte native Antawn Jamison as a part of his “A Better Tomorrow” campaign. More information on this initiative can be found at www.antawnjamison.com.
The March Madness competition began in January with regular season basketball games; playoffs began in February. Saturday’s finals will take place according to the following schedule:
9:00 am - High School Basketball Championship
10:15 am - Cheerleading Competition
11:15 pm - Middle School Basketball Championship
12:30 pm - Step Competition
1:30 pm - Elementary Basketball Championship
