Second Annual Antawn C. Jamison Scholarship Winners
For the second consecutive year, Antawn sponsored the Antawn C. Jamison Scholarship at his former high school (Providence High in Charlotte, NC). The scholarships were need-based and required that the students (each from the men's and women's basketball teams) be in good academic standing and display great citizenship at all times.
This year's winners were Jasmine Morris and Quentin Martin. Jasmine will attend Gardner Webb (NC) and Quentin will attend Lander University (SC).
The total amount of each scholarship is $4,000. The recipients will collect $1,000 each year that they enroll in college for a total of four years. The Principal, Athletic Director, and coaches of the basketball teams made up the scholarship selection committee.
Although Antawn presented the scholarships at last year's ceremony, he was unable to present the scholarships this year due to a scheduling conflict. Providence High Men's basketball coach Byron Lowry presented the scholarships on Antawn's behalf.
Last year's winners were Chase Laws and Ashley Jefferson.
