Antawn Continues to Give Back in Hometown Charlotte Community at Christmas
Charlotte, NC – Charlotte native and NBA All-Star Antawn Jamison continues to make a difference in his hometown during the holidays. On Wednesday, December 19th, he provided 300 pairs of shoes for the men at the Uptown Shelter for the 6th straight year. Then on Thursday, December 20th, he joined forces with the Charlotte Police and Fire Department to provide gifts and food to over 550 needy families for the 5th consecutive year.
Jamison supports both programs as part of his ongoing "A Better Tomorrow" community service campaign that implements service projects in Charlotte that assist those in need.
"I look forward to doing this each year, even if I'm never able to be there and give out the shoes and gifts myself,” says Jamison.
Jamison also supported the Wizards' "12 days of Holiday Cheer" campaign as he helped sponsor a movie for injured military soliders and their families. (Read more...)
